White House “Officials MUST Wear Masks at All Times Inside the West Wing”

WASHINGTON – After two staffers tested positive for COVID 19 last week, the White House published a memo, which cites guidelines by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, directing officials to wear masks in the West Wing except when sitting at their own desks. At the same time one of the officials said that the memo directs officials to restrict in-person visits to the White House unless they are necessary, .

The memo that encourage the use of facial coverings, makes no mention of whether the president or vice president are included in the guidelines. Aides have said they don’t expect the president to start wearing a mask.

The memo says, according to a copy reviewed by The Wall Street Journal:

“We are requiring everyone who enters the West Wing to wear a mask or facial covering… Unless you absolutely need to conduct in person business in the West Wing, we respectfully ask you to avoid unnecessary visits.”

The memo is signed by the White House Management Office.
